“To know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship and expand concepts of mission.”
The UMW meets the first Thursday of January, March, May, September, and December. October may be a special time, and a gift-giving meeting is held on the second Thursday in November. UMW meets in Fellowship Hall and the lounge, generally at 12:15 pm. Meetings include a light lunch or dessert, devotions, business portion, and special program. An annual program book is compiled and printed. It lists officers, meetings, committees, etc.
Activities include annual bazaar (November), supplies for kitchen, kitchen cleaning, monthly vacuuming and dusting of lounge, and supplying sewn or knit items for mission requests.
Monetary gifts are also given to Heartland District, thank offering, Opportunity Development Center, Family Center, Hmong House of Good News, Northcott Neighborhood House, and a scholarship for a female Mid-State Technical College student.
